Pixelmator - More Awesomeness for the Mac

I was surfing the interweb a couple days ago and came upon a curious site. Pixelmator.com is pushing a new product dropping soon, called, you guessed it, Pixelmator. First off, the website is amazing, a great piece of work….besides the table layout.
The software itself looks to be an amazing app for the Mac that will be strong competition for the long standing photo editing champ, Photoshop. Not only does it look to have at least all the basic tools that Photoshop has, it also sports a slick UI and takes full advantage of being exclusive to the Mac by supporting Spotlight, Automator actions, including a Dashboard widget for converting files and a whole lot more
Another advantage is it practically copies Photoshop’s interface layout and tools, which is great because the learning curve will be drastically cut for new users. It also supports over 100 image formats and can even open and save Photoshop files with layers, which is really nice for cross compatibility. And on top of all this the price is next to nothing at $59!
With the beta dropping this month I am definitely going to take some time to test it out. Check out more at Pixelmator.com.
