CSS3 - Oh Yeah

CSS3 - Oh Yeah

Yes, I know. I’m a little behind the times with this post, but I cannot contain my excitement any longer. Web design is great and all but sometimes it just sucks when I design something that never looks the same after it’s built into an actual, working web page. Drop shadows, rounded corners and more just plain suck to execute in code, as my co-workers at NFi found out when my first design was ready for the assembly line. Ridiculousness is a vast understatement.

But now with the advent of CSS3, these hard times are over! That is, as long as the browsers fall in line and start to support it. *cough*IE sucks*cough* So far Safari 3.0, which was just released in Beta for Mac and Windows, seems to be the front runner at 18 of 19 new CSS3 styles supported. Firefox and Opera are further behind at 9 and 5, respectively. And guess who is at 0? No surprise there.

If you would like to see an example of the new CSS3 styles in action first head over to Apple’s website and download the Safari 3 Beta. Then head on over to CSS3.info and check out the coolness. If you’d like more info, also check out Musings from Mars, a nifty little blog.

Peace out. Support web standards.

Bender, I’m glad to see that you’re using code separation techniques, even if it is only for markup.
